I emailed one disgruntled person Maria S. She first said she was a successful trader but then later said successful traders don't exist, then she said she was retired with more than enough money and had more than me. So let me give my point of view on OTA and those like Maria S who like to lie when giving a review. First, to be successful at trading, you have to work on it.

Just cause you spend a some money on a course does not guarantee success. Success in anything in life is based off of your willingness to pursue success and unwillingness to take setbacks or quit. After becoming a student, I don't take losses like that.

I'm not saying I'm rich nor have I quit my day job but I can say, I'm doing ok. The method that OTA teaches is easy to understand. They don't have any proprietary tools. What you learn from here is what you can take with you. They aren't cheap but education isn't cheap either and you can either pay for education or pay for losses.

Would I recommend this to everyone? No, you have to have the time, patience and money to do this. Most importantly, you have to have the desire and reason to be successful at this. If you come into this being negative and quick to quit or you normally fold the moment you hit adversity. Then you'll suck at this just like anything else in life that requires some dedication.

Now, if you're one of those people who is persistant and look at setbacks as a learning lesson, then this is for you. OTA is a community, and the instructors actually care that you succeed.

This isn't a get rich quick method.

Its meant to teach you a skill and every skill requires some hard work. My husband and I just finished the initial week long course. We were very satisfied with the level of knowledge of our instructor, Kelly.

It is like learning a new language so we know we have a long way to go to trading on our own. I am excited about our XLT training which I am sure will give us an even stronger foundation for gaining training experience. I had no prior experience with trading and now I have a good general understanding of the Stock Market. So let's talk about a review of Online Trading Academy. I have seen for years the commercials for Online Trading Academy but never made the phone call.

I did finally and now wish I had done it years ago. Let's start with the first exposure to the San Diego office. Comfortable and inviting is how I would describe the offices. The representatives are knowledgeable and friendly. Towards the end of the 3 day course Daniel gave me the information about the next step.

He was down to earth, matter of fact and no pressure. I made arrangements for the next course. The next course was great.

Scot is the instructor and he is awesome. He has decades of trading experience. The personality of Scot is great for teaching. He is patient with all of us.

He makes sure the information is reinforced for the entire class. The material is presented in a clear, concise and methodical manner.

Time will tell how well I use the material from Online Trading Academy. Already before the training has completed I am implementing the techniques with positive results. Went to the introductory class today. Total sales pitch, with lots of charts.

Radio advertisement promises free tablet for attending. You must purchase course to get the "free" tablet. I would suspect that 5 star reviews are from employees. Save your money, go to the library and learn about trading on your own. This is the most excellent adventure of my life.

When I came to the academy I knew nothing about the markets or how to trade them. Now I know what a professional trader is, how they think, what they do and with their guidance I am becoming one.

If your considering doing this I would say just do it, you will not regret it! This academy is the real deal. I have learned how to become a professional trader and have the opportunity to retake whatever class I want. I am now doing my continuing education every night online, and learn something new everyday.

Trading the way I was taught here is currently providing me an extra income while building my wealth. This was the best investment I have ever made! I have read books about trading before. But nothing compares to the information I have gained from OTA. I honestly don't understand how anyone could rate them lower than 4 stars on here. My favorite thing about them is that not only do the instructors teach, but they genuinely care about the students.

They take the time to get to know students and show interest in their lives. However, even if it was "just business" to them, the amount of access and information you receive for your investment is priceless, especially because a family and I can take classes as many times as we would like.

After attending OTA I now feel like I have the ability to take control of my own life. A total sales pitch to buy their very overpriced products. Don't be fooled by their fancy office. You are paying for it with your tuition. I AM A CURRENT OTA student and unfortunately my previous review was removed, probably by OTA itself. They supposedly have a "patented" system, which in itself means nothing about how accurate it is.

In fact, most of their supply and demand zones do not hold and neither I nor the OTA students I interact with are making any serious money with their method any time soon. I am a full-time trader now, use a different method, and I have not seen the OTA method as more effective than others out there. But, they have a carefully packaged and luxury-looking product to sell. One thing in their favor: Just use your stop orders wisely and do not lose more than 0.

It's a "buyer beware" review for me. If this post gets removed again, I'll voice my opinion much more loudly and all over the internet. It is a free country, so please respect my right of free speech by allowing me to give a review of my school. This is serious stuff! Nothing can prepare a person who ventures into the unknown better then the OTA can. This is not learning how to cook a meal in one pan.

Nor is it how to re- invent your living room over the weekend. This is how I survive the rest of my life and live well while doing it, stuff. It's how I use the limited finances I have and with the knowledge I am continuously gaining at OTA move forward into my future.

The internet may have vast amounts of information but in the highly competitive world of market trading assimilating and then applying that data on your own is daunting and scary and quite possibly a losing proposition. Only with this comprehensive and thourough learning environment do I get the confidence that I'm getting the cutting edge - edge on the rest of world of trading. Like anything else what you get out of something is based on how much effort you put into it. They tell you right off that you will not leave and immediately be a power trader.

There is a tremendous amount of online material. Free lifetime live course retakes are included and readily available. It is not cheap, nothing of real value is. You can custom tailor what you want.

You will be counselled on what you expect from trading, what type of trading might be a good fit to your expectations and budget.

Be firm but open minded as to what you want. I settled on one lifetime asset class with a free one time additional asset type, online resources called the extended learning track or XLT and ProPicks, daily trades offered and managed by professionals that you can trade right along side them and make money right off the bat.

You also get training on the appropriate broker platforms and related subjects plus periodic live free seminars and complimentary refreshers. It is work, no "magic answers". I have seen criticisms that says if the training is so good why are the trainers not trading but teaching instead.

To that all I can say is those people are just not very observant because all the trainers 5 I have had were trading on the side at the same time as instructing and the majority have some teaching background.

They teach because they like to teach, they get paid well and they get to trade as much as they want while teaching. It isnt always like that but it did happen! I can guarantee it. If you are on a tight budget then forget it, if you have some money and as importantly, the time to invest then it would be a wise choice but again you will have to work hard at it, follow what is taught to the letter and take full advantage of ALL the available resources, If you do, you will succeed, if you don't you will most likely fail.

I found out about OTA last summer. Now I have no retirement and have watched my investments disappear into the dust. I attended the seminar downtown and then the three day and then the first class and then the FOREX. Let me say this - you come with an arrogant view of doing your own thing - walk away. If you come in as a learner welcome. Successful trading is simple - learn the rules, stick to them, leave your greedy emotions at the door and make money.

Hands on at the computer is a must - learning the software platform is the foundation. This is not an on demand money making scheme but a rules based disciplined method and it works if you are willing to practice.

Don't ask then don't expect anything. Their online portal for continued education is the best I've seen from my online teaching experience. The majority of the instructors want you to make money and hold you ultimately accountable to remain in a low risk environment. They care about your success. And hello to all the naysayers - take any class at a University - it costs you.

Who pays the instructors, the light bill, the wifi, the utilities the rent? Wake up and smell the coffee - nothing in life is free! Why would I continue to teach as an adjunct professor if no one would pay me for my effort my preparation and the years I slogged away gaining experience to teach in the first place?

All of the classes and instructors are professional and well taught. If you want to learn how to trade and investment this is the place for you. If you want it bad enough you can do anything.

Before I go into my review of Online Trading Academy OTA , I'd like to give a quick background on myself. Before coming to the academy, I worked for 9 years in variance finance roles from Investor Relations, Sell-side Equity Research, and Corporate Finance. Over the past several years, I have studied numerous investment books from the greats Buffet, Fisher, Benjamin Gram, Damodaran, Dorsey, etc and invested in the equity markets.

I was first introduced to OTA by my wife, she signed herself up for one of OTA's free introductory workshops and asked me to go with her. Needless to say, given my background, I was a little skeptical at first. Also before attending OTA, I was considering getting my MBA, however, after attending OTA's free workshops and their introductory courses, I quickly changed my opinion on the value of a trading education. Afterwards, my wife and I decided to sign ourselves up for their extended core strategy and futures class.

The best part is that OTA only charges one tuition fee for married couples so I can attend the classes with my wife for free. In addition, OTA's core curriculum is both in person and online and is for LIFE. That means you can retake their classes in person as many times as it takes you to understand their core strategy.

So at a fraction of an MBA tuition, both me and my wife can learn a skill set that we can use for the next 30 to 40 years to earn a second source of income and sets us on a path towards striving to achieve our goals in life together. I just attended the core strategy with my wife this week and at the end of the week I am convinced this has been one of the best investment decisions we have ever made. I'm very happy that my wife dragged me here. Our instructor's name was Bill Henner, he's a third generation futures trader with over 40 years of professional trading experience and spent his first 30 years on the floor of the Chicago Mercantile Exchange.

He's a true master of his craft and also taught with simplicity and genuineness and backed it up with wonderful stories from his 40 years of experience. It was a real pleasure and a fortune to have had the opportunity to learn under a real master and I truly believe the knowledge he imparted on me and my wife has given us the right foundation on which to build upon and will undoubtedly accelerate us towards the lifestyle that we want to live.

It's in the heart of Sorrento Valley. The parking is tight, but not too bad. The actual office is pretty big, nice and clean. I went to the introduction class. I felt it was insightful. I was a little unsure, I decided I wanted to talk to one of the counselor after the class.

His answer was of course. At that time I was told I probably won't be a good fit for their program. I said you are probably right. For me it's important to check the reviews from Yelp and the BBB to see what others have said in regards to there reviews. I had mention that to the Representative before making a decision, he appear to not like that and had indicated, why would I need to do that.

The demo courses feel like going to a timeshare presentation - pushy and inauthentic. Even though I am a former customer, I didn't feel comfortable and welcome. So here's my response to all of the people wondering if this place is a rip-off I went to the introductory session and paid for the three day.

I got to thinking that if this really works then he probably trades and could prove to me that his trades were working. However, just before lunch on day two, they hit you with the sales pitch. They even have student loan folks that come in.
